Team Latvia needed at least not a win in regulation for Team Sweden or Germany, but the Russians and the Suisse couldn’t help them.

 
 
 
 
Sweden 2-0 Russia

The gameday in Znojmo started with a top-game of this group. You can imagine how many scouts visited this game, and also parents of guys came to Znojmo. If the Swede’s parents were there since the first game, the Russians came only on Monday before the game against Switzerland. The game was decided in first 10 minutes when 2 sharps pass helped Filip Forsberg to beat Andrei Vasilevsky. It was the battle of top European goalie prospects where it’s difficult to understand who wins. Vasilevsky stopped 40 shots, Dansk stoned 28 and earned a shootout.

"I’m proud of our guys who showed their character in the situation when Russian team began to create chances," said Rikard Grönborg after the game.

"We can’t win the game if we won’t score. But we haven’t had enough rest before this game and this loss only can improve atmosphere in our team," said Russian forward Daniil Zharkov.

Switzerland 2-6 Germany

Latvian players came to this game to support Suisse guys but they needed to leave the ice rink after the first period. When Germans scored 4 times and sent Melvin Nyffeler to the bench. In the second and third periods Suisse had an advantage in the game but could only score in last minutes Herzog and Simion beats Patrick Klein who stopped 37 shots on his net. Forwards of fourth lines was the best in this win. Leon Draisaitl earned 3 (2+1) points.


Game action from Germany-Switzerland

Germany took the third place in the group and will meet with Finland in Breclav at Thursday, in other QF pair Russia will play their classical game against Canada.
