Team USA demolishes Sweden 7-0 to win WJC18 the fourth time in a row

It started hard for both teams and it was difficult to make a real chances. USA gifted Swedes PP two times, and they didn't work well in these chances. When Ryan Hartman left the penalty box he went to a breakaway where Thomas Dipauli added the puck into Oskar Dansk’s net at 18:45.

The second period decided the winner of the game. Daniel O Regan used a breakaway to increase his team's lead at 28:26. Then J T Compher in a two-on-one counter-attack made it 3-0. Oskar Dansk was replaced by Marcus Hogberg after this. But in the end of the period Swedes lost the puck in their own zone and Nicolas Kerdiles found himself alone to finish second period run. 4-0 after two period and full domination on the ice showed that USA will win the fourth straight WJC (U18).

The third started with a nice attack from USA and Ryan Hartman extended their lead to 5 goals. Connor Carrick extended the Swedes' nightmare with a rather not so strong blue line shot. In every moment the American players were faster than their opponents, Swedes lost chances when USA defenseman robbed them in front of empty net. USA added two goals to beat them finally 7-0.

Best goalie: Collin Olson (USA)

Best defenseman: Matt Dumba (Canada)

Best forward: Filip Forsberg (Sweden)
