Having almost lost the championship in the third period, Berlin managed to score 4 consecutive goals and get a win in OT

Adler Mannheim - Eisbären Berlin 5:6 OT

After their away win in Berlin, the Adler Mannheim knew that they could end the best of five series at home on Sunday and celebrate another championship with their fans. The start into the match couldn't have been better as Christoph Ullman did only need 42 seconds to get the home side in front. Already in the 7th minute Jim Sharrow scored the equalizer for Berlin. In the first period the guests from the Capital were the far more active team but Adam Mitchell did get the lead back for Mannheim in the 12th. In the middle period the pressure of the guests was even higher but first it was again Mannheim that should score when again Christoph Ullmann made it 3-1. With one and a half minute to go in the second it was Danish international Mads Christensen who cut the lead to just one and the away fans saw the efforts of their team finally rewarded. A double early in the third by Ken Magowan and  Craig MacDonald for the Eagles put the home fans into a celebration mood as they expected to get the the long awaited league title. But now with a lot of desparation Berlin knew only one direction - to attack the opposing goal. Within two minutes after the last Mannheim goal Jim Sharrow and Barry Tallackson had made it 5-4 and now the home side started to become nervous. In the 54th the result of the high pressure of Berlin came and Tyson Mulock tied the match for his colours. In the overtime Berlin continued with its dominance and Tysons brother TJ Mulock earned the game winning goal in the 64th minute.

Now the series and the championship are back in the hands of Berlin which will face Mannheim for game 5 on Tuesday.

Series now tied 2-2

The previous results of the series were:

Eisbären Berlin - Adler Mannheim 2:0
Adler Mannheim - Eisbären Berlin 4:1
