After the end of Nationalliga coach Sean Simpson makes changes in the National team roster
After the last preparation games against Sweden and the end of domestic league, Canadian coach Sean Simpson set the Swizerland roster for the last weekend of preparation before the World Championship. Roster can now include players from finalists ZSC Lions and Bern. To make space for new players Simpson cut from roster defenders Alessandro Chiesa (EV Zug), Dean Kukan (Lulea/SWE), Romain Loeffel (HC Fribourg-Gottéron) and the forward Gregory Sciaroni (HC Davos). HC Davos goalie Leonardo Genoni voluntary gives up alleging lack of shape.
The new arrives include: goalie Lukas Flüeler, defenders Severin Blindenbacher and Mathias Seger, forwards Andres Ambühl and Thibaut Monnet from champion ZSC Lions. From runner-up SC Bern Simpson picked up defender Philippe Furrer and forward Ivo Rüthemann. Two NHLers Luca Sbisa (Anaheim Ducks) and Mark Streit (NY Islanders) will join the team in this week.
