With only one round remaining of Euro Hockey Tour Russia is now in the lead of the total standings, one point ahead of Czech Republic. The two will meet tomorrow.

Russia beat Sweden 4-2 today thanks to two goals by Nikolay Zherdev. Alexey Tereshchenko assisted to three of the Russian goals and especially the last one to Zherdev's 4-2 goal was a real beauty.

The first half of the game was scoreless but Russia moved to a 3-0 lead thanks to quick goals by Evgeny Kuznetsov, Nikolay Kulemin and Nikolay Zherdev in the second half of the second period. Niklas Olausson scored 3-1 at 38:55.

With 4:12 remaining Mattias Karlsson brought hope to the Swedish team with a powerplay goal from the blue-line, but Nikolay Zherdev restored the Russian 2-goal lead at 58:25.

Sweden pulled goaltender Viktor Fasth but didn't get back on the score sheet and lost its fourth game in a row.
