First point for Kazakhstan

Kazakhstan got its first point of the World Championship after losing todays game to USA in overtime. Justin Faulk saved the Americans with two goals, including the winner.

 
 
 
 
Talgat Zhailauov tied the game against USA at two with four minutes remaining of the third period and Kazakhstan for the first time during this World Championship earned a point. Now there is no team still at 0 points.

In the overtime period USA outshot Kazakhstan 8-0 and finally, at 64:38, Justin Faulk saved the American honor.

"We will take the two points and move on," said Faulk after the game.

Faulk had also scored the American 2-1 lead five minutes into the third period.

In the first period USA had 16 shots on goal but the Kazakh goalie Vitali Kolesnik saved them all. The Americans had to wait till 34:12 until they finally beat him. J.T. Brown broke the scored the first goal of the game, but also his first goal of the tournament.

The game saw only three penalties; two for USA in the second period and one for Kazakhstan in the third. On USA's second penalty Konstantin Pushkaryov scored 1-1 at 38:17.
