German Women Bundesliga Schedule Announced

German Women Bundesliga Schedule Announced

28 Jul 2012 | Tyler Bilton

The German WomenBundesliga 2012-13 schedule has been announced with the biggest change being the increase of the number of clubs in the league from six to seven. ERC Ingolstadt will be making the move to the top women’s league joining SC Garmisch-Partenkirchen, ECDC Memmingen, EC Bergkamen, Eisladies Berlin, ESC Planegg, and ESG Esslingen.

ESC Planegg is coming off their most successful season in club history as they won the German Championship, EWHL Supercup, and the German Cup. All eyes will be on the Penguins as they look to continue their impressive dominance in Germany and search for their first European Women’s Champion Cup championship this season.

The season will run from September 15, 2012 to March 13, 2013 with each club playing 24 games. Of those 24 games, ECDC Memmingen will have October 28 circled on their calendar, as they will face their rivals ESC Planegg. ESC Planegg defeated ECDC Memmingen in the last game of the 2011-12 season to take the league championship and then defeated them again in the German Cup.
