Good and bad news for HV71

First regular time win for the season in the 5-3 game against MODO but defender out with injury for up to six months. Växjö surprises Skellefteå.

HV71 finally took their first three pointer of the season after 5-3 at home to MODO yesterday. Some bad defending by MODO gave HV71 a 4-1 lead before MODO pulled back to 4-3 after one goal by Gustav Possler, the 18 year old has scored an impressive five goals so far. A late PP goal sealed the victory for HV71. But there was bad news as well for HV71 as defender Mattias Karlsson is out with a shoulder injury and is forced to surgery that could keep him out of action for six months.

In MODO who now is last placed there has been trouble on defense and in yesterday's game new Anssi Salmela was missing due to transfer problems even if he already played against Färjestad. His transfer was first approved but my mistake it had been approved by the Russian Association and not the Ukrainian which was the correct as Salmela last played in Donbass Donetsk. Therefore his transfer card was revoked as Donbass didn't first approve the transfer. However the transfer is now completed and Salmela is now ready to play again. MODO will also reinforce with last year's star Kyle Cumiskey who returns to MODO after not making the NHL after preseason.

In the other games on Tuesday Brynäs won 4-3 after overtime against Frölunda after two goals by Andreas Thuresson and Örebro took another surprise win with 3-1 over Linköping.

Today we saw a game without goals but eventually Luleå won the penalty shootout against Leksand as Linus Klasen scored the winner. We also saw a surprise when last placed Växjö defeated first placed Skellefteå 4-2. Colby Armstong a key factor with two goals and Växjö climbed to ninth place.

After a quite bad start Färjestad seem back on track and took another win after 3-1 against AIK. Two goals midway through the second period sealed the win. Now also Ole-Kristian Tollefsen is back from injury.
