With Sweden facing Finland and Czech Republic playing Russia some exciting quarterfinals are luring ahead at U18.

Recap Group A:

Russia's win wasn't enough to take Canada down from the first spot. In a tight game that saw Canada as the alleged winner, Vladislav Kamenev scored
the game tying goal just 35 seconds before the end of regulation and carried on that momentum to the Shootout where Kiril Pilipenko netted the
game winning goal. In the second game Sweden dispatched the Germans with a 9:3 victory with 8 different scorers and qualified for the Quarterfinals
as second placed of the Group. In the third Quarterfinal game, Sweden will face the home team Finland. Both Teams met in a Quarterfinal two years ago with Sweden advancing to the Semis with a 7:3 win. The Canadians will suit up for a meeting with Switzerland in the 4th Quarterfinal which has never happened before in the short history of the World U18 Hockey Championships with Canada being the clear favourite.

Recap Group B:

With a 4:2 win, the Czechs overtook Switzerland to grab the second spot in Group B. The Swiss were trailing the Czechs but always kept up hopes when Kevin Fiala scored the 3:2 with 8 minutes to go. With 3 minutes left, Coach Manuele Celio took a Time-out and Goalie Kevin Fehr off the ice for an extra attacker but 3 seconds before the Sirens went off Jiri Smejkal scored the empty netter to make it 4:2. With this win, the Czechs got themselves a date with Russia in the second Quarterfinal. The last time these two Teams met was in 2005 when the Czechs won 5:1 but lost the following game against Canada. In the second game of Group B the United States won a tight game against the Finns with 4:3 and snapped the first spot from same opponent. Jack Eichel scored the game winning goal with a little more than a minute left in the game. The States will play Slovakia in the first Quarterfinal tomorrow afternoon.

And here are the Quarterfinal overviews for tomorrow:

1. QF: USA-Slovakia
2. QF: Czech Republic-Russia
3. QF: Sweden-Finland
4. QF: Canada-Switzerland

Relegation Round (Best of 3):
