Russian goalie Nabokov out with injury

Russian goalie Nabokov out with injury

07 May 2011 | Fredrik Pålsson

Barulin steps in as first goalie while Vasily Koshechkin is added to the roster as backup keeper.

Russia's goalkeeper Evgeny Nabokov left the game against Denmark with a groin injury and will probably not be able to play any more during the World Championship. This means that Konstantin Barulin that has replaced Nabokov twice this tournament and still hasn't conceded a single goal will be Russia's starting goalkeeper.

Vasily Koschechkin from Severstal Cherepovets is added to the Russian roster as backup goalie. Koschechkin is making his fourth World Championship and played three games at last year's championship.
