HV71 wins top game

Two games in Elitserien was played on Sunday with wins for HV71 and Linköping.
There was a top game played in Jönköping when HV71 defeated Skellefteå 2-1 in a close game to extend their league lead to four points. Goalie Gustaf Wesslau played very solid in goal for HV71 and Marcus Nilsson and William Karlsson used two mistake by Skellefteå to give the home team a 2-0 lead.
The guests had several attempts on Wesslau but couldn't score before it was only 1:07 left of the game. Erik Forssell finally beat Wesslau after picking up a rebound from a shot in the post. Skellefteå put some pressure on during the last minute but HV71 kept their lead for three points.
In the other game on Sunday Linköping scored a late winner to beat AIK away 2-1. Carl Söderberg scored a goal for the fifth consecutive game and (eight games in a row with at least one point) when he opened the scoring at 14:06 but AIK tied it only 23 seconds later by Joakim Nordström.
After that the game was tied for over two periods before Erik Lindhagen scored the game winner with three minutes left to play. Despite 31-18 in shots it was another loss for AIK who are stuck in the bottom of the table.
