28 Feb 2013 | Henrik Lundqvist
With tonights 3-2 win over Rögle Skellefteå secured the Elitserien regular season win. With two games to play Skellefteå leages the league twelve points ahead of HV 71.
Rögle BK - Skellefteå AIK 2 - 3
(1-2, 1-1, 0-0)
As HV 71 lost tonight Skellefteå would have secured the league win tonight also in case of the loss. But of course the league leader didn't want to lose to last placed Rögle. The home team Rögle took the lead after five minutes by Fredrik Warg. Before the end of the first Jimmie Ericsson tied it and Viktor Arvidsson scored 2-1 for Skellefteå. Juhamatti Aaltonen scored Rögle's second goal in the middle of the second period but at 33:08 Oscar Lindberg got Skellefteå's winning goal.
Luleå HF - AIK 6 - 4
(3-1, 2-3, 1-0)
AIK needed a win to get a fair chance to steal the eighth spot from Brynäs but after the loss to Luleå there are six points up to a place in the playoffs with two games to play. Joonas Vihko scored three goals for Luleå in the second period. Anton Hedman, Karl Fabricius and Toni Koivisto also scored for the home team. Mattias Janmark-Nylén, Broc Little, Stefan Johansson and Björn Melin scored for AIK.
Timrå IK - Färjestads BK 4 - 3
(2-0, 1-1, 1-2)
Timrå still hopes to avoid Kvalserien (relegation games) and thanks to the win against Färjestad there is still a small chance. Timrå had leads 2-0 and 3-1 but Färjestad tied it at three at 53:16 when Chris Lee scored his second goal of the game. A few minutes later Timrå got a 2-man advantage and Mathew Robinson could score the game-winner.
Brynäs IF - MODO Hockey 3 - 1
(1-0, 2-1, 0-0)
Before this game last year's champion Brynäs had only one 3-pointer in the last 17 games so the 3-1 win against MODO was extremely welcome. Elias Lindholm scored 1-0 and 2-0 before Kyle Cumiskey got MODO's only goal. Jesper Ollas then made it 3-1 for Brynäs.
Växjö Lakers HC - HV 71 4 - 1
(1-0, 2-1, 1-0)
Thanks to the home win against HV 71 it looks like Växjö Lakers will stay in the top division. Jan Hlavac scored twice and Dennis Rasmussen and Jan Urbas got a goal each. Elias Fälth scored for the visitors.
Frölunda HC - Linköpings HC 2 - 4
(0-0, 1-0, 1-4)
Linköping fired only nineteen shots but scored four goals to beat Frölunda 4-2. Rastislav Pavlikovsky, Sebastian Karlsson, Simon Hjalmarsson and Carl Söderberg (empty net) scored for the guests. Sebastian Collberg and Joel Lundqvist for Frölunda.
