Geneva with one skate
Fifth defeat in a row for Biel; Lugano wakes up to late.
Geneva 3-0 Biel Despite
the last victory last Tuesday, after a shootout at the
Zurich's ice, eagles are still flying low and it was time to play a
game that could please fans at Geneva. There has been an early
game stretched on both sides, with a false rhythm, and no real action
worthy of the name. The first goal came at the
second power-play and was scored by Cody Almond, after
Jeremie Kamerzin slap at the blue line.
Without
being transcendent, Geneva took the game in hand and doubled the
lead by John Fritsche. It was not a great Geneva but a bad Biel on
the ice.
The
second period changed, and Biel came out stronger then the first
period. But even if Biel was more dominating then Geneva the actions
near Stephan's goal were not many. Biel's coach Kevin Schläpfer was
not a happy man, the forwards on the team were supposed to be the
strongest link, and those first six games show the contrary.
The
third period showed two teams already thinking about Saturday's game
specially after the third goal scored by Simek. Today Geneva will
play at Fribourg and Biel will be visited by Bern. Two derbies were
things could get easily hot inside and outside the ice.
Tobias
Stephan with 40 saves and a shutout deserved to be the best
player on the ice.
Lugano 3-4 Davos
In this sixth round of LNA, Lugano end's with the fourth consecutive defeat. After the five
points obtained in the first two games of the season nothing goes well at Resega...
After just five minutes
of play Davos scored the first goal by top scorer Marcus Paulsson, moments later the guests also found a way to score thanks to Perttu Lindgren. After that second goal Patrick Fischer wisely decided to
call time-out and that worked well because Mclean find a way to score the first goal for Lugano in a shorthanded goal.
In the second period the
two teams not tried too much adventures in the opposite side but the breakaway line composed by Sciaroni-Walser-Hoffmann showed up for work and scored the third. At the end of the middle period, the
situation for the home team got worse with the fourth goal scored by Dario Bürgler.
In the last period Fischer
has decided to rely on the trio Domenichelli-Metropolit-Ruefenacht to
try to grab at least a draw and Lugano seemed to be much more toned. Schlumpf scored the second and Walker score the third but has said was to late. The ideas for score were over. Davos defended well until the end of the game. Metropolit with two assists was the best man from Lugano. In Davos side the line Sciaroni-Walser-Hoffman is the surprise of the league in the first six games.
