Novosibirsk side took a win over SKA in the shootout, Brust finally got beaten, Traktor snaps one at CSKA
A shocking defeat came for SKA at their home arena as Sibir took away two points after winning in a shootout. Tony Martensson opened the scoring for the home side at 7:32 on a powerplay. Another powerplay goal at 42:41 brought the game to the level as Ivan Lekomtsev ties it on Jori Lehtera and Jonas Enlund's assists. As the game went to overtime, neither team were able to score the game-winner, but then Dmitry Kugryshev slides the puck past Salak in the shootout, to bring the game to a close.
Barry Brust, the goalie for the newcomers Medvescak of Zagreb, saw his run of three shut-outs end in Minsk. He kept Dinamo at bay until 6:17 when Andrei Stas lit the lamp. At 13:16 it was already 2:0 for the home side through Tomas Surovy. Before the period ended, Ryan Vesce scores a powerplay tally at 17:48 to decrease the lead. At 26:33 Boyd Kane adds another one on Kevin Lalande in net, while Jonathan Cheechoo becomes the league's top scorer with a strike early in overtime.
Traktor Chelyabinsk really needed a lift in the game at CSKA in Moscow. They scored only once in three games prior to this one. Midway through the first, Andrei Kostitsyn opens the scoring. Yegor Dudin doubles with 33 seconds into the middle period. At 55:13 Sergei Shirokov brings some action to the game as he cuts the lead to 1. Five seconds before the end Andrei Kostitsyn seals the deal with his second of the night, for a 3:1 win in Moscow.
Lokomotiv crushed Admiral at home 4:0 with Curtis Sanford keeping his net untouched on 37 attempts. Kiril Kapustin and Yegor Averin finished with 2 points each.
Salavat Yulaev are back in track as they beat Dinamo in Riga 5:2. Igor Mirnov and Teemu Hartikainen broke a tie leaving Latvians helpless.
Michal Vondrka's second of the night brings Slovan the win over Metallurg Magnitogorsk in overtime following a 3:3 tie. Slovan had a 3:1 lead but Metallurg pulled back with Danis Zaripov (2+1) and Jan Kovar (0+3) to force a comeback.
Vadim Berdnikov sees his game-winner early in the third to give Severstal the edge over Amur.
Lev wins 2:0 at home over Admiral with Jakub Klepis and Michal Repik each scoring a goal.
Atlant skates to a 2:1 win over Metallurg Novokuznetsk with only 8 shots on goal. Oleg Yashin brought two assists for Nikita Soshnikov and Yury Trubachyov to give their team the edge.
