Zug and Ambri get wins over pursuing Teams
EV Zug 5 - Rapperswil-Jona Lakers 4 OT
The home team couldn't have had a worse start as they got hit by
the Lakers hard, 3 goals in the first period
were a powerful statement. Jordan Murray (unassisted), Nicklas
Danielsson (Samuel Friedli) and Stefan Hürlimann (Lars Frei, Antonio
Rizzello)
scored unanswered goals. But with the second period, Zug finally
picked up some speed and got on the scoreboard with Robbie Earl (you
might recall
he was fired by the same team he was now playing against and also
was voted Player of the month on eurohockey.com) assisted by Rob
Schremp and
Andrew Hutchinson. Björn Christen (Robbie Earl, Rob Schremp) and
again Robbie Earl (Fabian Sutter) smoothed out the deficite and the
game could start
from the beginning.
A third period goal from Rapperswil Center Adi
Wichser (unassisted) and Zug's Center Fabian Sutter (Robbie Earl)
couldn't decide tonights winner but it was Zugs Reto Suri (Alessandro Chiesa, Josh Holden)
who scored the overtime winner and finished an incredible comeback.
HC Ambri-Piotta 3 - HC Davos 1
In front of 5'252 spectators at the Stadio Valascia none of either Teams
was able to get on the scoreboard in the first period. It was Daniel
Grassi (Assists: Roman Schlagenhauf, Elias Bianchi) who scored for Ambri and that was basically it for the second period.
Finally, the third period would bring some movement to the game. Noah
Schneeberger (unassisted) for Davos and 36 seconds later right
defenseman Markus Nordlund (Paolo Duca, Inti Pestoni) scored in the final
minutes of the game. In the last minute, Inti Pestoni scored the
empty-netter to make it 3:1 for Ambri.
