EIHL board meeting
On Wednesday the EIHL board met up to discuss a number of points to try and improve the game in the UK.
The main take away from the meeting was the
increase of imports allowed from the 2015/16 season. Currently teams are
required to ice 11 work permit players and 1 additional EU passport holders.
From next season teams will be allowed to increas the EU passport holders by 1.
Another main talking point on the agenda was the further investment in game
officials. A training camp will be held in August, as well as a recruitment
drive to grow the pool of officials. A
post-game evaluation will be implemented
which will be filled out by both coaches, who will rate the officials
and raise any issues they may have. These evaluations will be considered when
deciding who will officiate the "big games" (Challenge Cup, play-offs etc).
