Växjö Lakers have signed former NHL player Adam Burish, 32. The contract is signed on one year.
Adam Burish is a tough player that likes to play a physical game and the Head of Sports management Henrik Evertsson is thrilled by the new recruit: -"He's going to be an important part of our boxplay," he said to vaxjolakers.se.
Adam Burish is currently coming from Chicago Wolves in AHL, but have played a total of 378 NHL-games. Adam have represented Dallas Stars, Chicago Blackhawks and San Jose Sharks. 2009-10 he won
Stanley Cup with Chicago Blackhawks. As Jani Lajunen left the reigning champions Växjö, Adam Burish will have no problem fill his place.
- In many ways, Adam Burish is an interesting player. He's physical and reads the play well," Evertsson says.
This is a great signing by the Swedish Champions. Växjö haven't had a great beginning of the 2015/16 season. In 10 games, Växjö have a record of 3 wins and 5 losses, with 1 win in overtime and 1 loss in the same department. In the +/- they have -5 and 12 points, which put Växjö in 8th place. This isn't acceptable for a team of that caliber. But hopefully Adam will contribute with his experience.
Adam Burish will join the team during next week and hopefully he will be ready to play in the game against Brynäs IF on Saturday October 24.
