Russia wins SHG and EHT
With a perfect record at the Sweden Hockey Games in Gothenburg, Russia already secured the EHT title with one tournament to play.
After winning Karjala Tournament in November finished second in Channel One Cup in December, Russia won the third EHT tournament of the season, Sweden Hockey Games, this past weekend. This means also that Russia already have secured the overall win of the Euro Hockey Tour even if Czech Hockey Games still is to be played in April.
In the first game Russia barely got away with the win. Anatoly Golyshev scored the game-winning 2-1 goal against Finland at 58:34. This game was played in St. Petersburg while the rest of the tournament was played in Scandinavium in Gothenburg, Sweden.
In game two Russia beat host Sweden 4-2. Kirill Kaprizov recorded a hattrick in this game. In their last game Russia beat the Czechs 4-2. Maxim Shalunov and Sergei Shumakov recorded three points each.
Top scorer of the tournament was Sweden's Carl Klingberg with two goals and four assists (2+3 in the 5-2 win over Czech Republic).
