Beybarys back to the throne
Title is back in Atyrau after two seasons
Beybarys Atyrau won the Kazakhstan League closing 4-1 the series against Nomad Astana. The goal of the title was scored at 66:31 in the overtime by Russian veteran Evgeny Deryabin, on club roster since the foundation of Beybarys in 2009, winner of all four championships of the club, The finals were very battled, with four games out of five finished after the regular time. Beybarys finished the regular season at the top of the standing, one point ahead of former champion and Continental Cup winner Arlan Kokshetau, eliminated in the semifinals by Nomad Astana, in the replay of last season finals. It was the third consecutive final for Nomad, champion in 2016. In its short history, the club celebrated 10 years of foundation this year, Beybarys counts a record of 4 titles, 2 silver medals and a bronze. In 2016-17 the team finished as silver medalist in the Continental Cup Superfinals played in Collalbo, Italy. It's the first title for Slovak coach Vladimir Klinga, who started the season as assistant coach of Alexander Istomin, who coached Beybarys since the foundation, fired in December.
