After 5 seasons the Turkish Superlig has a new champion
Buz Beykoz Istanbul is the new champion of Turkish Superlig, ending the 5-years reign of Zeytinburnu, another club from the city of Bosphorus. Buz Beykoz is a new/old club: during the summer a new owner bought the traditional Başkent Yıldızları, winner of three titles between 2010 and 2012, and rebranded it as Buz Beykoz, keeping the club in Istanbul even if the practices and some games are held in the city of Kocaeli.

Buz Beykoz dominated the seven-teams regular season, as Zeytinburnu were used to do, losing only once, against main rival. In the championship round, where the first four clubs in the regular season advances, a perfect record of 5 victories leads the club to the finals against Zeytinburnu. In a thrilling final confrontation, Zeytinburnu won the first game 4-2 despite many absences in the roster but Buz Beykoz secure title by beating rival 4-2 in the decisive clash. In a league dominated by imports, for the first time after many years, a domestic player, forward Serkan Gumus, finished as top scorer, ahead of Russian Konstantin Kuchkin (Buz Adamlar) and teammate Vadim Ageyev. Gumus was the decisive factor in the final game, scoring all four goals of his team
