Czechia scores 14 against Kazakhstan
In a lopsided contest, the Czech team delivered a dominant performance to defeat Kazakhstan 14–2 in the World Junior Championship game at the TD Place Arena in Ottawa.

The Czechs wasted no time establishing control, scoring four unanswered goals. Matěj Maštalířský opened the scoring at 5:45, followed by Petr Sikora's quick strike just six seconds later. Jakub Dvořák and Vojtěch Hradec added to the tally, showcasing sharp passing and well-executed plays. Despite some pushback, Kazakhstan struggled to generate chances, managing only seven shots on goal to Czechia's 13.
The second period was a scoring clinic by Czechia, netting eight goals to Kazakhstan's one. Matěj Maštalířský completed his hat trick with goals at 24:10 and 27:25, while Jakub Stancl and Vojtěch Hradec began to pile up points, each scoring multiple goals. Kazakhstan's lone bright spot was Kirill Lyapunov’s power-play goal at 18:34, capitalizing on a brief defensive lapse by the Czechs.
Though Kazakhstan managed another goal early in the third from Alexander Kim, Czechia continued their relentless assault. Stancl and Hradec both completed their hat tricks in the final minutes, capping a remarkable offensive display.
