Metallurg Magnitogorsk and Lokomotiv Yaroslavl win tournaments

On home ice Metallurg Magnitogorsk won the Romazan tournament while Lokomotiv Yaroslavl, without allowing a single goal, won the Latvian Railways Cup in Riga.

 
 
 
 
Magnitogorsk beat Salavat Yulaev Ufa 6-2 in the final of the Romazan Memorial tournament in their home arena. Salavat took the lead twice in the first period but Konstantin Glazachev tied it in the second. The win was secured in the third period when Metallurg added another four goals.

In the group stage games Metallurg beat Yugra 3-1 and Ak Bars 3-2.

Lokomotiv won the Latvian Railways Cup in Arena Riga with wins of 1-0 against Atlant, 3-0 against Dinamo Minsk and 3-0 against Neftekhimik in the final. No goals were allowed by Lokomotiv in the tournament. Stefan Liv guarded their net in all three games.

Gennady Churilov scored the first two goals in the final. Alexander Galimov added the 3-0 marker into the empty net 11 seconds before the end.
