Two and a half round of Elitserien has been played. Today two games were played. Eurohockey.com takes a quick look on what happened today and so far during the season.
Today two games were played. In a derby in Stockholm Djurgården defeated AIK 4-2 in front of 13 850 spectators in the Ericsson Globe. AIK had a 1-0 lead after the first period but three quick goals in the beginning of the second turned the game around for Djurgården. AIK's goalie Viktor Fasth who has been brilliant in the first two games (46 saves in the opening game against Timrå) were unlucky tonight and should have saved one or two of the goals.
In the other game today HV71 lost their third straight game. Linköping won 2-1 after two late goals by Carl Söderberg. A hard loss for HV71 who was the better team for the first two periods. Linköping is second in the league with 8 points in three games. The first line with Magnus Johansson, Pär Arlbrandt and Carl Söderberg has been very good so far.
The only team with maximum points so far is Frölunda who only conceded two goals so far, the Dane Frederik Andersen has been impressive in goal for the Gothenburg club. Besides Frölunda and Linköping, Brynäs is the only unbeaten team with four points in five games.
The only teams without win besides HV71 are Skellefteå (two losses on penalty shots) and Luleå with one point. Timrå and newcomers Växjö both have two points after winning one penalty shoot out each (away to Skellefteå and Luleå). MoDo and Färjestad both have three points in two games.
The league looks more even than ever before, 8 out of 15 games so far has been won with a one goal margin and only three games with more than two goals.
