Nedvěd steps down
Petr Nedvěd has stepped down as the general manager of the Czech national hockey team as of August 31, 2024, due to personal reasons. If circumstances change, the possibility of resuming the collaboration remains. The leadership of Czech Hockey is currently deciding who will take over his responsibilities. Nedvěd served as the general manager of the Czech national team since the 2018/19 season, with a break during the 2022/23 season. He returned for the 2023/24 season, during which the team won the World Championship title at the home tournament in Prague and also secured a bronze medal at the 2022 World Championship in Finland.
(04 Sep 2024)Big wins for USA and Czechia U17 in Piestany
The USA U17 team dominated Switzerland with a commanding 7-0 victory, featuring goals from seven different players, including a standout performance by Nathaniel Pederson with a goal and two assists. USA controlled the game early with a 2-0 lead in the first period and continued to pressure throughout, outshooting Switzerland 34-25. USA's goalie Ryder Fetterolf was flawless with 25 saves, securing a shutout while Switzerland struggled to find any offensive rhythm.
Czechia beat Germany 10-1, scoring three goals in each of the first two periods and adding four more in the third. Czechia's Nikolas Marik and Vojtech Svancar each netted two goals, while Germany's only goal came on a power play by Max Penkin late in the game. Czechia outshot Germany 30-21, with goaltender Frantisek Poletin stopping 20 of 21 shots.
Day 2 of the U17 tournament in Slovakia
The USA U17 hockey team dominated Germany with an 8-1 victory, outshooting their opponents 57-21. Germany's only goal came on a power play in the second period. William Bent and Cole Bumgarner scored two goals each for USA.
Czechia overpowered Slovakia with a 6-1 win, dominating the game with 45 shots on goal compared to Slovakia's 21. Czechia's Simon Katolicky led the charge with two goals and an assist, while Slovakia's only goal came in the second period from Matej Beres.

Switzerland and the Czech Republic faced off in a U20 hockey friendly at Vierumäki. The match, attended by 80 spectators, saw Switzerland triumph with a final score of 4-2.
The Czech team took an early lead, scoring twice. Miroslav Holinka and Petr Sikora netted the goals, giving the visitors a 2-0 advantage.
Switzerland responded strongly with three unanswered goals. Rafael Meier (x2) and Eric Schneller found the net, turning the game around.
Switzerland secured their victory with a final goal by Jan Dorthe, who scored on an empty net.

Russia beat Czech Republic, Slovakia and USA to win the 4-nation tournament for U17 teams in Piestany.
Results: Czech Republic - Russia 0-3, Slovakia - USA 2-5, USA - Czech Republic 4-1, Slovakia - Russia 2-5, Russia - USA 3-0 and Slovakia - Czech Republic 4-6.

Czech defenceman Michael Krutil got a one-game suspension at the World Juniors for a violation of IIHF Official Rule 160-Slew-Footing. He will miss the last game of the Round Robin against Austria.
(31 Dec 2020)Czech Republic beats Hungary 5-0 - twice
The women's teams of Czech Republic and Hungary played yesterday and today in Kalich Arena, Litomerice. Both times the Czech women won 5-0.
In the first game Sara Cajanova and Klara Hymlarova scored two goals each. In the second game five players scored a goal each. Klara Peslarova earned a shutout in the first game and Viktorie Švejdová in the second.

Alexander Pashin scored three goals when Russia beat Finland 4-1 in one of today's semi finals of the prestigeous U18 tournament in Czech Republic and Slovakia. In the other semi final Canada beat Sweden 3-2 in a shootout game. Cole Perfetti scored all Canadian goals.
Czech Republic beat USA 4-3 for place five while Slovakia beat Switzerland 7-5 in the 7th place game.
