The expansion of the North Okanagan Knights to Armstrong comes in the aftermath of the folding of the WHA Junior Hockey League and the local Armstrong Sharks. Both organizations were not members of Hockey Canada.
The Knights are precedded by the Armstrong Sharks of the WHA Junior Hockey League, and the North Okanagan Kings/Enderby Ice Kings of the KIJHL.
