Goals and assists
In what Head Coach Danny Stewart dubbed a ‘four-pointer’, the Blaze and Storm shared three as the home side took a penalty shot win to stay in touch with the playoff places.
It could have been better for the Blaze who led for most of the game. Nicolai Bryhnisveen put the hosts ahead on the powerplay at 8:19, followed a little over four minutes later by Kevin Morris doubling the lead. Dane Byers pulled the Storm back to within one at 30:07 on the powerplay, before Mike Hammond tied the game just under five minutes in to the third period. Luke Ferrera’s powerplay goal put the Blaze back ahead with 51:23 played, but with 4:20 left Rob Linsmayer tied the game to earn the Storm a point.
No goals in overtime meant the extra point was decided in a shootout – Bryhnisveen hit the winning shot in the shootout as the Blaze took it in the fifth round.
