Glasgow Clan kept up their good recent form and their place in the top five of the league thanks to thrashing Scottish rivals Dundee Stars.
A nightmare opening period for the visitors saw them six goals down after less than 17 minutes in Glasgow, as the home side were ruthless. Gerard Hanson and Vaclav stupk both found the net inside five minutes to put the Clan two up; while Brandan Connolly and Jack Musil hit the next two at 8:57 and 11:41 respectively. Matt Meca and Matt Stanisz’s efforts 48 seconds apart made it 6-0 before the break.
The middle period didn’t start much better for the Stars, as Scott Tanski made it seven with just 23:23 played. A mini-revival from Dundee saw them pull the score back to 7-2 thanks to goals from Matt Bissonnette and Brian Hart, but the Clan went back to six ahead through Brendan Connolly with one second left in the period.
Beca hit the only goal of period three to round off a 9-2 win for the hosts, who are now two points clear in fifth and have played two fewer games than Sheffield immediately below them.
