Goals and assists
Guildford ended their run of three straight defeats, but were made to work hard for it by MK who picked up a useful road point.
Owen Griffiths gave the visitors the lead early on as he converted on the powerplay just shy of the six minute mark. It took the Flames well over 30 minutes to find an equaliser, eventually Jordan Abt getting the goal on a delayed penalty play timed at 36:26.
With just under ten minutes to go the Lightning, who lost in Fife midweek to a last-minute goal, found themselves behind as Ben Davies gave the Flames the lead. However the visitors weren’t giving this one up, and Robbie Vaillargeon popped up with the equaliser 3:58 from the buzzer.
With a point in the bad for both teams, it was the Flames who took the extra one – the goal coming 3:33 into overtime from Calle Ackered to give Guildford the win.
