Fife handed Manchester their third loss in a row with a tight win in Kirkcaldy.
The home side were ahead thanks to Danick Gauthier just 5:57 into the game, but the Storm were level a little over halfway throughBari McKenzie then popped up to put the Flyers ahead with 27 seconds remaining in the middle session, scoring what turned out to be the game winning goal as neither side could add to their tallies in the final period, the opening period – Dane Byers continuing his fantastic run of goals for the Storm with the equaliser at 12:35.
The win for Fife puts them three points safe in the playoff places, above Manchester, with three games in hand on them. They also have played fewer games than Guildford, with whom they’re level on points. For Manchester, they now sit a point outside of the playoff places following losses in Coventry, Glasgow and Fife.
