Goals and assists
A late show from the Fife forced the game into overtime and then saw the Flyers steal the extra point as well with the sudden-death winner.
The hosts were two goals up inside 14 minutes, Brett Bulmer and Danick Gauthier giving them the perfect start. Sheffield however got level in the second thanks to powerplay goals from Ben O’Connor and Aaron Johnson.
The third period was however where the drama happened. John Armstrong gave Sheffield the lead with their third powerplay goal of the game at 46:37, before Evan Bloodoff levelled up at 51:26. With 1:52 to play Jonathan Phillips thought he’s won the game for the Steelers, but a late powerplay goal, with an extra attacker also on the ice, tied the game for Fife – Brett Bulmer the hero with 31 seconds left.
Into overtime, and the Flyers completed the turnaround – Rick Pinkston hit the winner at 63:17 to give his side a vital two points.
