Goals and assists
Nottingham Panthers bounced back from last night’s home defeat with a hard-fought road point in Cardiff, taking the league leaders to overtime.
Although the home side took the lead at 8:31 with Layne Ulmer’s goal, the Panthers hit back just over four minutes later through Dylan Olsen. Two minutes after the Devils were back in front as Drew Shiestel netted, but it was all even after 20 minutes as Luke Pither brought the Panthers level again.
The second period belonged to the Panthers who moved into a two-goal lead over the 20 minutes. New-signing Chris Stewart put the visitors ahead 4:42 into the period, with Alex Guptill extending the lead to 4-2 with 1:42 left in the period.
At two down the Devils needed an early goal in the third period to get back into things, and Stephen Dixon obliged at 41:37 to bring them back to within one. Ulmer netted again with 47:19 played to tie the game up, but there would be no winner in regular time as the game went to overtime. Joey Martin however needed just 29 seconds to grab the extra point for the Devils.
