Goals and assists
Guildford carried on their good week with a thumping win at the Storm Shelter, two days after making the Challenge Cup final.
Ian Waters and Jordan Abt scored some seven minutes apart in the opening period to put the Flames two up in just under 13 and a half minutes in Manchester. When Kevin King and Watters then both struck early in the second period the Flames led by four with less than 22 minutes of the game played. Abt found the net again to make it five at 25:13, and have the Flames all-but out of sight.
Ciaran Long got the Storm on the board early in the final period at 42:57, before Brett Ferguson re-established the visitors’ five-goal advantage with eight minutes to go – and that was how the scoring ended.
