Goals and assists
A vital road win for Coventry Blaze in Scotland this evening moved them to within a point of the playoff places with two games in hand.
The win was made all the more impressive considering the terrible start the visitors had – Marcus Basara and Brett Bulmer putting the Flyers two ahead in just over four minutes. Thom Flodqvist got the Blaze back in the game at 11:29, but at 13:11 Joe Basaraba had the Flyers back two ahead. Coventry were however level at the break, goals from Tim Crowder at 16:57 and then Shawn Pauly with six seconds left in the period brought the score back to three each.
Dillon Lawrence but the visitors ahead at 37:25 for the only goal of the middle period, however the Flyers were level 25 seconds into the final period through Evan Bloodoff for 4-4.
That was however where the scoring stopped for the hosts, as Coventry took over. Goals from im Crowder and Shawn Pauly two minutes apart put them a pair ahead, before Pauly completed his hat-trick with the Blaze’s seventh at 53:49 to secure the points.
