Goals and assists
Cardiff went back to the top of the Elite League thanks to their third home shutout in succession, as Glasgow slipped to their second defeat of the weekend.
It took until just short of the halfway mark in the game for the scoring to be opened. When the goal came, it was Sean Beantivoglio finishing off a faceoff play for the Devils to break the deadlock – Mike Hedden’s pass finding the forward in yards to space to pick his spot and slot past Joel Rumpel.
The hosts doubled their lead with 7:07 gone in the final period on a powerplay as Charles Linglet’s pass was perfect for Stephen Dixon to poke home from close range.
The Clan did pull Rumpel towards the end of the game to try to force a breakthrough, but they couldn’t deny Bowns another shutout in his own rink, and the Devils going back to two points clear at the top of the league.
