Rick Strachan’s Nottingham Panthers won at home for the first time in three games with a three-goal win over Glasgow.
Goals at 19:25 and 24:03 from Alex Guptill and Brett Perlini respectively put the Panthers into a two-goal lead in a five-minute spell separated by the period break. The Clan though have been one of the form teams in the league for a reason, and fought back with two goals in an 86-second spell to draw level – Gerard Hanson and Brendan Connolly with the goals at 28:51 and 30:17 to make it 2-2.
The Clan then took the lead 5:17 into the final period as Tyson Wilson converted on a delayed penalty. However this time it was the Panthers’ turn to come from behind – Stevie Lee brought them Level at 49:34, before Jon Rheault then gave the hosts the lead at 52:06. The lead was extended to 5-2 at 55:01, with Luke Pither on the empty net adding the insurance with 52 seconds to play.
