Goals and assists
Guilford extended their unbeaten run to five games in all competitions thanks to a two-goal home win over Glasgow.
Playing their only game of the weekend, Flames’ Head Coach Paul Dixon wanted his side to make sure they didn’t start flat – and they didn’t let him down. Just 2:07 had been played when Jamie Crooks found the net to put the hosts in front. Calle Ackered then gave the Flames a good start at the beginning of period two, doubling their lead at 23:38, before Ben Davies put them three up inside 30 minutes at 29:27.
Pete Russell’s Clan side can rarely be counted out of games, and their fight back started 3:10 into the final period through Scott Tanski. The 28-year old then brought his side back to within a goal at 51:10, doubtless reminding most at the Spectrum of the Flames’ three-goal lead that they let slip against Cardiff a few weeks ago. However this time it was different – with the Clan pulling Joel Rumpel, John Dunbar found the empty net to secure the win for Guildford.
