Goals and assists
Guildford have still not lost at home since the middle of January after an overtime winner beat Coventry by the odd goal in nine. The Blaze however move up a place into the playoff places again thanks to the road point.
Less were two minutes were needed for the deadlock to be broken between these two sides, who have shared a large number of goals in their meetings this season – 1:58 on the clock when Luke Ferrara put the Blaze ahead. Guildford responded with goals from Richard Krogh and Erik Lindhagen a little under four minutes apart to lead 2-1 by 13:28.
At the beginning of period two it was the Blaze’s chance to turn the game on its head with goals from Thom Flodqvist and Shawn Pauly 10:11 apart putting the visitors 3-2 in front. Guildford however were level at 36:21 thanks to Jamie Crooks, but Coventry would lead after 40 minutes as a Dillon Lawrence goal with 2:56 left in the period again put the away side ahead.
John Dunbar’s tying goal 5:16 into period three brought the scores level to four each, and with no more goals thereafter each side took a point. In overtime, with Nicolai Bryhnisveen sitting a minor penalty, Jesse Craig hit the game-winner to give Guildford the extra point and move them up to fifth.
