Goals and assists
Milton Keynes’ final game in the Elite League was not the fairytale finish they would have hoped for, as the Lightning were beaten by three goals by Sheffield.
The lone goal of the opening period went to the Steelers, a 2-on-1 was finished by Tanner Eberle to give the Steelers the lead. Sheffield went two ahead shorthanded as Josh McFadden fired in a slapshot from the far post from Ryan Martinelli’s pass. Tom Zanoski made it 3-0 at 34:30 as the Steelers led by three through 40 minutes.
The Lightning however were not to be shut out, and somewhat fittingly it was Player-Coach Tim Wallace that tipped a shot past Jackson Whistle just over seven minutes from time. A late penalty goal was awarded to the Steelers as Tim Wallace prevented the shooter going through on an empty net, giving the Steelers the 4-1 win.
