Nottingham Panthers got back to winning ways with a narrow Challenge Cup win in Manchester.
It was the Storm who got the first goal in their rink, where they were unbeaten going in to tonight's game - Adam Hughesman was on hand to poke home Dallas Ehrhardt's pass across the creasewith ten minutes played. The Panthers however turned the game around with two goals in just over as many minutes. First, Jon Rheault from close range at 15:09 on the powerplay, and then Ollie Betteridge on a breakaway shorthanded at 17 minutes.
No more goals followed in the game after three in the opening period - the Storm pulled Matt Ginn late on but couldn't find an equaliser as Nottingham took the two points.
