Sheffield Steelers went back to the top of the Elite League table thanks to a big win completing a four-point weekend in Coventry.
Although an early 2-on-1 opportunity converted by Charles Corcoran put the Blaze ahead early, the Steelers hit back to lead 4-1 after the first period. Goals from John Armstrong, Jonathan Phillips, Nikolai Lemtyugov and Tanner Eberle put the Steelers well in control at the Skydome. Marek Troncinsky made it 5-1 early in period two, although Corcoran Struck against shortly after the halfway point of the game to pull the score back to 2-5.
After Eric Meland added another for the Steelers Alex Forbes hit back for the blaze some 1 seconds later - but goals from Brendan and Connolly and Troncinsky again ensured a five-goal victory for the visitors.
