Cardiff Devils celebrated a second successive 7-3 win to ensure they ended Week 14 second in the league table.
It was a night to forget for Glasgow who found themselves four goals down in the Welsh capital after just 20 minutes. Blair Riley, Joey Haddad and Mike McNamee all struck on the powerplay in a nine minute spell that put the hosts well in control. Gleason Fournier rounded off the opening period's scoring at 17:08 with the result almost decided from that point.
To their credit, the Clan immediately pulled a goal back at the start of period two through Chad Rau, but Matthew Myers' marker some seven minutes later re-established the Devils' four-goal cushion. In the final period though the visitors did make things a lot closer. Goals from Matt Beca and then Rasmus Bjerrum brought the score back to 5-3 with just under five minutes to play. It was, however, a step too far for Glasgow to get back level as Sam Jardine's bullet at 55:49 put the game to bed before Stephen Dixon added a seventh late on.
