Fife Flyers won local bragging rights against Dundee Stars with a convincing 5-1 win over their Scottish rivals.
Leading from 5:21 in the game through Danick Gauthier, the Flyers then never trailed. Chase Schaber made it two 35 seconds into the middle period, and then doubled his own tally at 29:19 to put the Flyers into a commanding 3-0 lead.
Dundee were given a lifeline when Craig Gans' solo effort brought them into the game five seconds before the period was over, but Fife were back in control 7:13 into the third through Tim Crowder. Gauthier converted a penalty shot at 52:21 to round off the game's scoring.
