Dundee Stars pulled off an excellent win that kept their playoff hopes alive - and completed a bad weekend for Cardiff who picked up no points.
Great work from Egils Kalns saw him open the scoring with 1:55 played, and then a well-converted breakaway from Kevin Dufour made it two at 6:01.
Matt Carter's powerplay goal 6:52 into the middle period had the Stars three up before Gleason Fournier pulled one back for the Devils just a few minutes later.
Fournier then put the Devils back to within one in bizarre circumstances as his shot from the blue line bounced off the backboards and deflected in off the back of Stars' goalie Alex Leclerc on 48 minutes. However, as Dundee finished killing off a penalty Anthony Beauregard finished Colton Kroeker's feed at the back post to re-establish the home side's two-goal lead. Matt Marquardt rounded off a great night for the Stars with the empty-net goal 63 seconds from time.
