The Belfast Giants completed a four-point weekend in Scotland with back-to-back shutouts, beating Glasgow by six live on Premier Sports.
Belfast bossed the opening period at the Braehead Arena and ended it two up, although it could arguable have been more. Lewis Hook got the game's opening goal at 8:50 when he pounced on a rebound after Scott Conway's rolling shot which was saved by Shane Starrett.
It was another rebound that doubled the road side's lead at 17:16, Slater Doggett getting on to a loose puck from Jordan Boucher's shot following good Giants pressure.
Conway rang a a shot off the post immediately after the start of period two as the Giants continued their offensive threat, with Mark Cooper ghosting in at the back post for a good chance a few minutes later. Colton Yellow Horn had an excellent chance to get the Clan back into things when he went through on goal, but Tyler Beskorowany out-waited him to get the pad down and keep the puck out. Boucher then pounced on a loose puck at 35:46 to put the Giants three ahead.
Belfast continued their dominance in the final period as the Clan, playing their twelfth period of the week, tried and grew frustrated. A nice Scott Conway pass found David Goodwin who's excellent hands beat Starrett on the powerplay at 46:42, followed by Griffin Reinhart's blueline blast through a screen 59 seconds later. Conway, who at one point during the game had as many shots personally as the Clan overall, finished off the scoring at 51:25 on a rebound from Boucher's nice waltz in front of the net.
Jordan McLaughlin took over for the final nine and a half minutes and kept the Giants off the board any further, while Tyler Beskorowany recorded a 14-shot shutout for his second clean sheet of the weekend.
