A well-time four-point weekend helped Guildford Flames climb up to sixth in the Premier Sports Elite League standings with just one week of the regular season to play.
Coming off the back of a 2-1 overtime win in Cardiff, the Flames were two up inside ten minutes through Jamal Watson and then a screened shot from Jake Bolton. Ian Watters fired home in front of Will Kerlin's net at 29:31 just five seconds into a powerplay to make it 3-0, before Chris Gerrie tapped home at the far post for four at 32:53.
Jeremy Welsh scored at 43:176 and then again at 53:09 to bring the Panthers back to within two, and when Matt Lane's goal was upheld after video review the Panthers were just one behind with 87 seconds left. Ian McNulty found the empty net with 62 seconds to play to secure victory for the Flames.
