The Mol Liga started with a nice surprise. The Farmteam of Sapa Fehérvár AV19 (without players from the EBEL roster) beat title holder HSC Csíkszereda with penalty shots. The Fehérvár yougsters took the lead in the first period, but HSC quickly egalised in the second. The teams did not score in the third 20 minutes and in the overtime, despite both of them had PP chances during the overtime. Tóth Adrián made the only succesful penalty shot. The winner of the previous season lost two valuable points with four foreigners in their roster (Kerusz from IHF forums)
