Game recap

Manchester Storm battled back from 4-1 down to tie things up in Dundee, before eventually beating the Stars 5-4 in overtime.

Things started well for the hosts who led by two after the opening period. Philippe Sanche neatly slotted home from the shot with a well-placed low wrist shot past Hayden Lavigne, with Romans Semjonovs finding the top corner from a tight angle to double that lead at 15:26. Hugo Reinhardt skated from the red line to the slot before finding the back of Lavigne's net through a screen 38 seconds into period two to put the Stars in complete control, though Manchester got on the board some eight minutes later through Scott Simmonds.

The next goal was always going to be important, and when Elijah Barriga helped the puck over the line from close range 4:@6 into period three, it seemed as if the Stars would see the game out. Manchester had other ideas and turned things on their head over an eight minute spell. Michael Korol's first EIHL goal at 48:20 had Storm back in things, while Tyson Fawcett's finish at the back post off Kevin Ekman-Larsson's well-placed feed, shorthanded, made it a one-goal game at 53:10. Dallas Ehrhardt's one-timer straight off a faceoff tied the game with 3:02 to play in regulation.

Both sides took a point with the game going into overtime, and 3:59 into the bonus period Jesper Ohrvall finished high form close range to win it for the Storm - or so they though, as the goal was subject to a lengthy video review before being confirmed.
