Manchester Storm came from two goals down to beat Belfast Giants for the second time in successive days at the SSE Arena, and secure a four-point week out of six for themselves.
The Storm, who'd taken a 5-2 victory on Saturday, found themselves a pair of goals behind inside nine minutes on Sunday afternoon. David Goodwin and Scott Conway struck at 3:32 and 8:52 respectively to put the Giants 2-0 ahead early on. Stephen Johnson converted a rebound in front of Peyton Jones at 13:32 to bring the visitors into the game.
Tyson Fawcett tied things up 2:10 into period two, but at 25:19 Ben Lake beat Hayden Lavigne from a tight angle after Joe Hazeldine's stick broke as he tried to clear the puck. Tyson Fawcett tied things up 2:10 into period two, but at 25:19 Ben Lake beat Hayden Lavigne from a tight angle after Joe Hazeldine's stick broke as he tried to clear the puck. Jake Brickell levelled by deflecting Dallas Ehrhadt's shot past Jones in close at 35:30.
Jesper Ohrvall gave Storm the lead 24 seconds into the third when an Anthony DeLuca pass broke kindly for the Swedish forward. Cam Critchlow's goal just over 12 minutes later gave the visitors a two-goal advantage, but there were to be some nervy final minutes after Scott Conway got the hosts back to within one with 3:05 to play.
The Giants' defeat was the first time they'd failed to take at least a point from a home double-header weekend since February 2017.
