Game recap

Guildford Flames came back from three goals down in Dundee to stay in the Viaplay Elite League title race by the skin of their teeth.

Hugo Reinhardt, Philippe Sanche and Elijah Barriga put the Stars 3-0 ahead inside 19 minutes at the Dundee Ice Arena as the hosts tried to keep their playoff hopes alive.

However, Daniel Tedesco, Bretty Ferguson and Jordan Klimek combined to tie the game over ten minutes in period two. Ferguson then put the visitors ahead shorthanded with 70 seconds left in the middle period, only for Cole Fraser to score 23 seconds later off the resulting restart.

Ryan Tait's powerplay goal 3:50 into the third put Guildford ahead again, and they survived a late penalty and some 6-on-4 action before Peter Crinella killed the game off with an empty net goal with 46 seconds remaining.

Guildford must beat Dundee again on Sunday to keep the title race alive ahead of their trip to Belfast Giants next weekend. For the Stars, this defeat saw them eliminated from the playoff race.
