Goals and assists
Cardiff Devils needed two late goals to get past Manchester Storm,
both from players called Cole - Sanford levelled inside the final three
minutes, before Ully won it in overtime.
After two 3-1 games, a
win for each team, in Cardiff between these sides in the past few weeks,
it was another tight content at a sold-out Vindico Arena. Cole Sanford
put the Devils ahead on the powerplay with 12:30 played, only for
Andreas Heier to tie things up 32 seconds later.
Tyler Hinam
finished excellently to put Storm ahead 12:09 into period two, a lead
that the visitors held well into the third period. Justin Crandall
levelled on the 49-minute mark, but CJ Garcia put Storm straight back
ahead only 13 seconds later. It needed Sanford's second of the game with
2:31 to play in regulation to tie things up.
Manchester had the
better of the early chances in overtime but were undown when Will
Merchant was forced to take a slashing minor to sto pa Devils 1-on-0.
With 14 seconds left in the extra period, Cole Ully got on a loose puck
after a Brandon Alderson shot and beat Evan Weninger to get the Devils
the bonus point.
